You think men gave women whatever rights we may have in rich countries? No, power never concedes without demands, and never concedes until the price of maintaining power is greater than the price of concession. Women in the USA and other rich countries enjoy more options and safety than women in colonized countries because we (women) fought for it, and made it too costly to maintain the disparities.

Moreover, there are still many disparities for poor or BIPOC women, right here in the USA. So the fight continues until the benefits of civilization that some of us enjoy are no longer privileges for some, but rights for all.
