When I complain about getting interrupted or not getting a turn to speak, people say, "Just jump right in!"

Yeah, right. I've tried that a few times. It's tough and it feels wrong. And people either ignore me or look at me like I sprouted an extra head.

The other day, I was talking with a professor who had come to the USA from Japan. He said he had a similar problem, and it took him a long time to get used to the way people talk over each other here. And he still thinks it's rude.
