This reminds me of a conversation I had with a trumpist relative, who was (like me) also molested as a child.

Me: How can you support a rapist?

Him: He's not a rapist. He was not convicted of rape in court.

Me: If I steal something or assault someone and don't get caught, did I still do something wrong?

Him: um... y-y-yeah

Me: Then how is rape any different from any other wrongdoing?

Him: (crickets)
