There’s a Crack in Everything
That’s how the Light gets in — Leonard Cohen
Sophia took some Chaos,
Worked it in Her Hands to make it clay
With this She made a pot
Fired it, admired it, filled it with Light
The Dog — God spelled backwards, that Dog —
The Dog, I say, saw the pot
Barked with joy
Wagged His tail
Struck the pot
Shattered it to pieces
Scattered like the Stars!
Oh Me! cried Sophia
Not even I can undo what has been done…
Sophia took another piece of clay
Arms legs heart mind eyes mouth she gave it
Speaking Her own Sacred Name
She breathed life into the creature
Spoke to it and said:
You are Human
I give you the power of Creation in My image
You know Good and Evil,
And you are drawn to the Good
I give you a Sacred Task:
Walk through the Chaos
Gather these fragments of Light
Arrange them in a good way
At the end of your walk
you shall present your work to the Most High
And Human said:
Amen
