The problem with capitalism is that it is not sustainably self regulating, but its proponents think it is. Here in the USA we let the "invisible hand" operate, to the effect that our standard of living is worse, by many measures, than that of other wealthy countries.

In many places that were rebuilt since WWII, the people have set up a form of capitalism which is regulated in the interest of the common good. It seems to be working pretty well, give or take a few, in that the standard of living in those places is better by many measures than here.

We need to take a cue here. that capitalism can be regulated toward any purpose, and can be regulated toward the common good. It would not be a knock off of the European models, but something that grows here from the Black and Indigenous traditions here, the wisdoms of the peoples who have mastered survival.
