Thanks, I figured you would. And sorry for unloading a rant on you. Just something I been wanting to say for a while, and didn't want to put it as a reply to the main article because I've found it's not generally a good idea for a white person to reply directly to a Black person in a public forum.
But maybe I ought to clip it and make it an article on its own. Address it specifically to white folks, so as not to tell Black folks what words to use -- that's tone policing and white supremacy. Just that it would be good if we white folks who are working on making things better could quit using a wonky academic word that needs tons of explanation and winds up putting our intended audience off anyhow, and instead use real words for what goes on in real life.
Living in a big city apartment complex, I have neighbors of various colors, and get to hear lots of real-people talk. I never once heard anyone thru the walls or out there in the courtyard say anything about "white privilege" but I often hear about Rights.
