Thanks for saying this. We humans are in a pickle because our bodies take on adult form about 10 years before our brains are mature. The last part of the brain to mature is the frontal lobes, which govern foresight and principled morality. This is why teenagers and folks in their early 20's often behave rashly. Also this is why adults having sex with teenagers is such a heinous act: they are taking advantage of people whose brains are not yet fully online.

My brother confided to me his feelings about girls in their early teens on the beach. He had all the usual excuses. I promptly gave my sister a heads up, because she has 2 daughters who were both in their early teens at the time.

My family made a big to-do about how I betrayed my brother and I should have kept my mouth shut. No one but me and my sister seemed to care about the girls. Everyone else was more worried about my brother's ego.
