Thanks for saying this. It was probably very hard to write this, and I admire you for doing so. While acknowledging the bad, it is important for health and self-care to focus on the good.

I hear you from the other side. I"ve had to temper my anti-racism reading also because it makes me hate myself and those who look like me. In particular, reading slave narratives drives suicidal ideation.

So I've tempered reading this sort of material. yet not stopped entirely. Malcolm X said that white folks should educate ourselves and our people. So I push through the self-hate and continue to do what needs to be done. I know from experience that none of us are free till all of us are free.

I always admire the faith, hope, love, beauty, and joy of your people. This is why I support the interpretation of Deuteronomy 28, that you are God's chosen people. Only God's chosen ones could be so graceful under so much pressure.
