Thanks. Been real sensitive lately to cultural appropriation, so that I don't wear certain patterns or colors, don't use certain expressions, and had even stopped playing drums for a while. All the while thinking somewhere in the back of my mind, that it's all good as long as I know, appreciate, and acknowledge the cultural origins and meanings of these, and -- most importantly --don't make any money off of it. Thanks for confirming this.

As I see it, the reason Black people create such great cultural works is because humanity originated in Africa. Whether it's art, music, science, technology, philosophy, or anything else -- Black people did it first. The rest of us need to cite our sources and respect our elders.
