Thank you, great article! As a survivor, an autistic person, a female, and a human being, I heartily endorse this article. It was a bit triggering, but I could deal with it. Not nearly as bad as some other stuff I’ve read that had no warning. We autistics have a different perspective on many things, and I’ve long seen that prisons don’t do any good. Instead, they take people who have gotten caught — maybe they did bad things or maybe the cops got the wrong guy — and turn them into something far worse than they were before the carceral system got their hands on them. Meanwhile, many people do very bad things and get away with it for various reasons including class and color privledge, witness intimidation, or just luck. We need to reallocate community resources from the carceral system to community resources that prevent crime. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
