Sounds nice, but we do have monopolies here in the USA, thanks to Reagan back in the 80's. Large companies are buying out smaller companies and putting local businesses out of business. I see you are a highly skilled worker with light skin so you probably don't experience this as much as some other people do.
I have been boycotting Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, etc, for years. But when I try to talk to people about boycotting problematic companies, they say, the prices are right and there are no other choices.
I'm not sure what you're getting at with Bluesky and X. I did not mention either one. I get my news from established neutral sources such as AP and BBC. And if I read anything that doesn't seem right or seems intended to arouse strong emotion, I fact-check across other sources.
For example, last night, my brother told me that Texas froze because Biden ordered their governor to close some power plants. So I checked into that and found out that Texas closed some older power plants because those in charge didn't want to upgrade to new environmental regulations. Now, the new administration wants to disband the EPA, and my brother agrees. He has asthma and autoimmune disorders; you'd think he'd want clean air and water.
