"Sorry, but weak argument. ...Just like one can understand the anti-Enlightenment brainwashing of radical Christian Fundamentalism without reading the book of Genesis, one can understand the anti-Enlightenment brainwashing of radical CRT-infused SJW activism without reading a bunch of dusty old dissertations."
Really?
The book of Genesis documents the roots of radical Christian fundamentalism. Sacralisation of sexism, conquest, violence -- it's all there. A mood-driven Bronze Age desert god strikes people dead for trivial reasons, and terrorizes its followers to this day to do the same. Without a reading of the Genesis, none of it makes any sense.
Same with CRT. The activism and shouting in the streets makes no sense without considering the tenets as explained in this article.
John McWhorter acknowledges that CRT tenets in themselves "are hardly calls to turn schools into Maoist re-education camps fostering star chambers and struggle sessions" yet claims that "this, indeed, is what is happening to educational institutions across the country."
Really? A few excesses may make the news, but comparison of these to Maoist re-education camps (where thousands of people were beaten, starved, and killed) is a bit of a stretch, to say the least. Moreover, McWhorter and his fellow Black conservatives come under harsh criticism from other Black intellectuals as well as the Black community -- see, for example, https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/2001/01/03/the-linguists-fighting-words/a80dfd04-fa94-488c-91d3-ef4e41d760b2/
