Ok, so Marxism has a poor track record as a model for social organization, and the founders of BLM do indeed profess to be Marxists on their website.

What then?

Do Black lives matter? Of course they do!

Is racism a major problem in this society? Of course it is!

It so happens that Black Lives Matter, the organization, has taken the lead in addressing racism and mobilizing the energy to make real changes. This is a fact, regardless of the political leanings of its founders. This is why the Movement for Black Lives is worthy of support. The Movement is far bigger than the organization, and it is composed of many locally-organized groups. There are even affiliated majority-white groups such as SURJ and WP4BL.

If, a little later down the road, we see some of the ugly traits of Marxism as described in this article, we'll deal with it then. For now, BLM is doing a great job of calling attention to the fatal flaw of racism in our society. We can either undo racism -- fix this flaw -- or we can continue to let it destroy us all.

To undo racism, we need to hear all voices at the table. BLM is doing a great job of bringing in Black voices. Let's listen and work together like reasonable human beings sharing this planet, our only home. We can either do it the easy way, or the hard way -- which this article warns of. As King said, riots are the voice of the voiceless. We don't have to go there if we listen and work together now.
