Nothing wrong with wanting to help your fellow human beings, but there's a difference between that and being a White Savior.
In the White Savior trope, a White person steps into the situation knowing little or nothing about the people and saves the day by the sheer power of their Whiteness. The story is all about the White Savior, everyone else is just a backdrop.
Helping your fellow human beings in real life means getting to know the community, respecting the fact that the people are experts on their own lives and problems, and supporting the solutions that emerge from this. Most people never even know your name because the focus is on the people of the community.
