No problem. I’m lucky to be working right now, teaching math online thru my local community college, and super-lucky to have been able to do this all thru the past year even when lots of places shut down and lots of people lost their jobs. So sharing out my stimulus check isn’t going to hurt me. And if I do find myself coming up short later on down the line I know what goes around comes around and I’ll be ok. The Lord takes care of drunks and fools and star-ships named Enterprise.

It feels good to share. And your feedback is worth every penny and more! I’m writing more these days because Malcolm X said that white folks who become aware of racism and want to end it should do so by educating ourselves and our people. Your feedback will help me do this a lot better. I need the rules of good social conduct made explicit, and you did that for me, just like you found a work-around for your client with dyslexia by reading his material to him so he could learn and do — and he did fine. Now I know to avoid generalizations about people and avoid talking out in the streets about my neighbors’ private problems, especially in re Black people. This is huge! You kept me from becoming the next Robin DiAngelo!

So if your conscience starts getting to you please just re-gift what I sent to your favorite nonprofit. Seriously! Cheers — Just an old hippie
