Malcolm X relates in his autobiography about the time a conscience-stricken white woman asked him, what can we do? Apparently he hadn't thought about that much yet, so all he could say was, there is nothing you can do. Later, he said, he thought this over and wished he'd told her, educate yourself and your people. He added, he hoped she was reading this.
