Jesus did not rebuke the scribes and pharisees for homosexuality or abortions. He rebuked them for hypocrisy. He rebuked them for tithing on trifling things while ignoring the spirit of the law -- which is, love God with your whole being and love your neighbor as yourself.
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law: judgment, mercy, and faith. These ought ye to have done and not to leave the other undone."
Christians need to preach the Parable of the Sheep and Goats to each other, and leave the rest of us alone. But no, that would cut too close.
