It looks to me like MR (the OP) is saying that all devout Jews want is to study the Torah. This is a worthy goal, leading to righteousness. However, study requires leisure, and leisure requires money. Thus, money is not a goal in itself, but a means to the goal of studying the Torah -- a means, in turn, of attaining righteousness. Or am I missing something?
