Interesting use of "reduction to the absurd" argument. We use it in mathematics all the time: take a statement and prove it false by showing that it leads to a contradiction of other statements known to be true. I wonder how many people will realize that's what you're doing here. vs people who will think you're actually arguing for pedophile acceptance in the manner of the notorious NAMBLA. The ability to think in nuance is somewhat rare, and I think this has always been the case. Such thinking requires a surplus of cognitive resources, and most people are running at full cognitive power just struggling to survive.

In fact, an argument could well be made for making treatment available to non-offending pedophiles. I think there was such a program available in Canada, and possibly also in some private psyche hospitals stateside.

Though I'm a dyed in the wool lefty, I strive to be always open to challenge and question. Thus, I follow a few contrarians and conservatives who are able to make a reasoned argument. I just added you to my follow list.
