Interesting take here. Of course it's all about profit -- make seats smaller, squeeze in more passengers, never mind that people are paying more and getting less. Profits are at an all-time high. Customers getting a short shrift punch down at their fellows rather than up at the soul-less corporations getting filthy rich on human misery.
The racist angle is noteworthy here. There's an increasing amount of hate directed against people of color. This is a deflection from the outrage we should all be feeling against the robber baron corporations who "turn our world into pocket change" as Buffy St. Marie said in "Priests of the Golden Bull."
Meanwhile, the rich get richer by fleecing the working class and the poor, while the rest of us think we're temporarily indisposed millionaires. It's the American Way.
