I'm seeing a lot more homeless elders, which is a dirty shame. This country pays such great lip service to "family values" yet is perfectly ok with elders sleeping in alleyways.
My brother stays with me even though we don't get along because his other alternative is on the street. We're both in our late 60's. Just this morning he recited the usual talking points about the former guy's accomplishments while I was trying to enjoy my breakfast. I didn't respond, and eventually, he took the hint and left the room. My neighbors see how he treats me and tell me I should kick him out. I tell them I'd rather put up with him in my house than worry about him on the street.
So it goes, in the greatest country in the world.
