I'm not Mexican so I won't say much about the Mexican guy smudging tourists, except to say this: We all need all the blessings we can get. He's no different from the travelling preacher who does faith healings. Some people need that service and are willing to pay for it.

That said, did you see the gawdawful performance at the Paris Olympics by the woman who calls herself Raygun and a break dancer?

That's a great counterexample to the idea that "you can be anything you want and do anything you want."
