I'm autistic. I don't ask people's names because I feel that's a very invasive question. When you know a person's name, you have a key to their backdoor, so to speak. You can interrupt them and get their attention and get them to do things for you. When I skip the name exchange, It doesn't mean I am objectifying them; it means I respect their privacy.

What's more, I'm face blind. Knowing a person's name is useful only after I've gotten a gestalt for them, which often takes many encounters.

There are so many rules for dealing with allistic folks. Tell your name and ask their name. even though it feels weird. Otherwise, they think you're objectifying them. Sheesh...

That said, I think he mistook you for a sex worker. His opening lines are typical of someone soliciting a sex worker.
