As long as sex is pleasurable and birth control isn't 100% available and effective, there will always be a next generation. And as long as men have more physical, economic, and social power than women, there will always be women having babies whether they want to or not -- often becoming single parents in the bargain.

Children who were ill-timed or unwanted know it in their bones. The parent(s) may never speak of this, may struggle to make the best of things, but it's never an optimal situation. Such children face disadvantages throughout life. I know. My father didn't want me. It's been rough.

The world population is 8 billion and rising. At this point, no one should become a parent unless they are completely willing and able to conceive, bear, and nurture their children to maturity.
