I would love to celebrate Black cultural events with my neighbors like anyone can celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Oktoberfest, Nordic Fest, or Cinco de Mayo, even though they are not members of the relevant ethnic group. However, I've read many blog posts about how the sight of a white person is traumatizing to Black people. I can relate to this because, as a survivor of multiple sexual assaults, I am uncomfortable around males.

So, I stay out of sight during Black cultural events and do not leave my home unless I have to go to work. That way I don't mar their joy with the sight of my white face.
