I remember a while back reading a quote from one of the so-called founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin IIRC. He said that our Constitution is suitable for a nation of law-abiding people. For a lawless country, it is woefully inadequate. He predicted that we would see this in action someday, but not for a few centuries.

When TFG was elected, many people pointed to a letter from Hamilton to Jefferson. Hamilton suggested that one of the purposes of the Electoral College was to be the adult in the room should the people become deluded and vote for a "scoundrel." We hoped back then that the EC would rise to that duty. They didn't,
I wonder why the Republican party has fallen so hard for such a sorry excuse for a human being. I can't help but think maybe he's blackmailing them (for want of a better word) with material from Epstein's island. This is just speculation, of course. But it would be a plausible explanation for why half the country seems to have lost their minds.
