I can relate. I was raised Catholic and am familiar with how their god likes suffering as an offering. I've seen how other traditions offer food, libations (drink), flowers, incense, song, dance, tobacco, etc to their deities and I think that's pretty cool. In comparison, the Catholic god is a sadist. He doesn't want food or any of those other pleasant things. He wants pain.

I never could figure that one out. I'm a mere human and I don't enjoy seeing others suffer. God is supposed to be better than me yet he enjoys this. According to dogma, he even had to incarnate and sacrifice himself to himself so that he could bring himself to forgive the shortcomings of the humans that he created. Go figure.
