I agree, and I'm pushing back.

MAGA means make America white again. And not just any white folks. Disabled folks, LGBT folks, mouthy folks are finding out what it's like to lose any traditional white immunity we may have had.

Sometimes, I hear folks who look like me say, I'm not privileged; I'm female / poor / disabled / ugly / neurodivergent / trans / etc. That's why I don't like the term "white privilege."' It's too complicated to explain, and it implies that all white folks live on easy street.

Recently, a Black commenter here (sorry, I don't remember who) said that a better word is immunity. White folks are relatively immune to police harassment, job discrimination, presumption of guilt, etc. -- for now.

Those of us who are less immune sometimes use this as an excuse to throw a pity party. A better response would be to recognize racism by analogy with our experiences of discrimination for other reasons (sex, disability, religion, etc). And to think, what if I were Black or Brown in addition to being gay / autistic / female / disabled / etc.? This mental shift would build solidarity and counteract the current administration's divide-and-conquer strategy.

Thanks again for your ideas and work.
