Hi - thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear the car dealerships look at you wrong because of accidents that were other people's fault! And yeah, I think racism has a lot to do with that.
And I'll leave off saying "here in the USA" for you. I always figure on other people reading this stuff, and some overseas. And I've been corrected for saying "America" for USA and "American" for USA-ian so I'm careful of that also. I thought you live overseas. Sorry about that. I lived in Chicago for a while and I agree, the public transport system is pretty good there. I read an article recently about public transit in the USA, there's a handful of cities that have good public transit and Chicago is one of them. Good for the factory workers to get to work back in the early days when most people didn't drive. Rebuilding after the Great Fire probably had something to do with it also, that was around when the first "L" train started. I thought the "L" system was pretty cool, I still see it in dreams sometimes. Public transit wasn't too bad either in New Orleans, where I grew up, at least prior to Hurricane Katrina. Don't know how it is now.
I've been in a passenger seat with people who had no business driving. Very scary! I wonder how they ever passed their driving test. Sometimes I think people ought to be re-tested every few years, to renew their liscense. But that would probably be used to discriminate against people also.
Thanks for the reply, I love your work! In fact, your work is one of the main reasons I subscribe to Medium.
